How does the current Regulatory environment impact me
May 09, 2023
There have been many changes in the regulatory landscape over the last few years, some related to Covid and some not. My goal is to share some background from the perspective of a former regulator as I spent 16+ years at the Vermont Department of Financial Regulation in the Securities Division, the last 6 as the Deputy Commissioner. I will also discuss what this means for us as a consumer of financial services and products as well. Currently, as a consultant for an international compliance consulting firm handling state and SEC registered investment advisor firms as well as being a registered Private Investigator in Vermont along with being an Adjunct Professor at Champlain College, I will share years of thoughts and insights on a number of issues/cases and situations that will be interesting and informative.

![]() District Vision for 2023-2024
Oct 24, 2023 4:30 PM
Our theme for this year: "Create Hope in the World" Background: Susan moved to St. Johnsbury in 1978 and started teaching K-8 music at the public schools. She and her husband of 42 years, Martin (also a Rotarian) raised their 4 children in St. Johnsbury and now run a bed and breakfast in town. Susan got her VT principal’s license in 2011, but chose instead to focus on Restorative Justice. She is the Executive Director of the Community Restorative Justice Center in St. Johnsbury. She also served 10 years on the Planning Commission, was a leader in Girl Scouting, Choir Director and organist, hosting coordinator for American Field Service, and taught private music lessons in her home. She currently serves in Rotary as AG, Club Fund Raising Chair, on the faculty of RLI, and Chair of the District Rotary Youth Exchange program. She is a graduate of the Snelling Leadership Institute and also enjoys some down time with gardening, sailing and her amazing 6 grandchildren. |
