Technology and how important safeguarding your data is to the survival of your company
Feb. 14, 2023
simpleroute® was founded in 2009 by Brett Johnson. With over 13 years of networking, web and programming experience at the time, it was certainly a logical progression. However, it wasn’t his motivation in forming the company. In his previous position, Brett spent a lot of time performing accounting software upgrades for local area clients who subscribed to IT services with other local IT companies. He was appalled by clients’ lack of IT support. There was often a clear disconnect between what IT professionals said and did and what management understood. Clients were unprepared for disasters and accepted serious issues like daily backup failures or non recoverable data on backups without a second thought. IT professionals were more worried about eroding profits from efficient solutions than saving clients’ money. The local businesses he came in contact with were amazing places with incredible unique visions, making the perceived disconnect all the harder to watch. It is for this reason simpleroute® was created. Solutions strive for efficiency – as a rule, we never want our customers to repeat the same action twice. We push to evaluate client processes, solutions and budgets and present clients with options they can clearly understand. We understand the importance of technology to your business and the impact downtime has. Our services and solutions are based around you, our customer, to help provide the best overall experience possible. Efficient IT solutions at all costs – IT’s that simple®. |

Macedonia Update
Apr. 11, 2023
Dattilio Medical Mission (DMM) is a Vermont based 501c3 that raises funds to finance the shipping of donated medical equipment and supplies to disadvantaged hospitals overseas. In 2022 DMM partnered with World Medical Relief to ship a container of equipment valued over $567k to a hospital in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia. Due to extreme need, we have been asked if DMM could ship another container in 2023 to the city of Bitola in the same country. We are currently raising funds for this second shipment. |

How does the current Regulatory environment impact me
May 09, 2023
There have been many changes in the regulatory landscape over the last few years, some related to Covid and some not. My goal is to share some background from the perspective of a former regulator as I spent 16+ years at the Vermont Department of Financial Regulation in the Securities Division, the last 6 as the Deputy Commissioner. I will also discuss what this means for us as a consumer of financial services and products as well. Currently, as a consultant for an international compliance consulting firm handling state and SEC registered investment advisor firms as well as being a registered Private Investigator in Vermont along with being an Adjunct Professor at Champlain College, I will share years of thoughts and insights on a number of issues/cases and situations that will be interesting and informative.
