Celebrate Rotary around the world and the people who make our conventions memorable, and witness how we have found new ways to come together. Experience high-energy performances to kick off our convention and get excited for the rest of the week! Sunday, 13 June We grow by learning a new skill, hearing different perspectives, and challenging ourselves to step outside of our comfort zone. Witness a conversation about women’s historic role in Rotary and celebrate the nomination of Rotary’s first female president. Recognize service projects from around the world and learn about the impact on communities. Hear about Rotary’s newest area of focus, the environment, and get informed on tangible ways to support sustainability efforts. Listen to keynote speakers share ways that we can all continue to make a difference – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves. Wednesday, 16 June Focus on how service projects change lives. Watch presentations from keynote speakers as they share how we can challenge assumptions to deepen our impact. Hear from Rotary leadership as they discuss innovation, change, and ways to get involved. Imagine This: Designing A Better Vermont
Aug. 24, 2021
The glaobal pandemic of 2020 has led many of us to turn inward, lamenting what we've lost and uncertain of what's to come. Rather than dwell on the negative, the architects at Freeman French Freeman instead chose to dream about a positive future where Vermont communities thrive. Working in teams, FFF created five visions for the future on sites, familiar to many Vermonters. FFF hopes you enjoy the creative ideas presented and that these projects spark conversations in the Burlington community of what could be.

August 26th will mark the fourth Summervale of this summer with local food and a live performance from Red Hot Juba. Burlington Rotarians will be on-site helping out. Red Hot Juba are a Burlington-based band with a sound that can be described as countrified jazz and Green Mountain Swing. With long, high energy sets, the band will cover a broad and varied expanse of musical ground over the course of an evening. Join us from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm on the 26th to enjoy the live music, local food, kid’s games, and community connection! |

"SERVICE ABOVE SELF"
Hey Rotarians and friends! Here are the directions below to our Rotary Service Project for October 23:
"Wood For Good" up in Jericho.
The work time range is 9AM to 12 Noon. THIS SATURDAY, the 23rd.
(If you are in central Burlington, the drive to site is about 25-30 minutes,
so leave early, and then no need to rush.)
Directions to the woodlot -- print now:
It's at #150 (approx.) Cilley Hill Rd. Jericho
SO:
Take VT RT. 15 east to the "Red Mill" in Jericho
Continue 0.8 Miles on 15 and turn left at Cilley Hill Rd
Continue 0.4 miles, across a one way bridge and bear right at the next fork,
then go about 0.5 mile down the road.
When pasture turns back to forest - see the woodlot area on the right.
(You may see a way-point marker, as well.)
Our host and project manager is Exec. Director Eric Axelrod
Thanks to all Rotarians who can take time to come up for some of the cutting, chopping and stacking,
--Keeping needy families who exclusively use wood heat, warm this winter!!!
Please forward these directions to any friends or family you invited, who may be coming up to the event separately.
Looks like a cool, sunny, day - about 50 degrees, with low or no sweat.
REMEMBER Bring your garden/leather gloves, layered worn clothing,
and work boots, (or firm hiking shoes) which are recommended
avoiding any smooshed toes, or a possible twisted ankle!
At Noon when done, --- we macho men, and sturdy women may grab a beer or sandwich
at a nearby local joint.....
Seeing many of you there;
Ed
