Vermont Department of Financial Regulation will be presenting on updated Regulations pertaining to the financial exploitation of vulnerable adults and steps that can be taken to report potential instances of fraud or scams. Bill Carrigan, Deputy Commissioner of Securities at DFR will also discuss other types of frauds and scams being investigated by the Department.

FECC Program at UVM this January 7th - 10th

FECC is an international competition held at UVM every January. There are 24 colleges and Universities coming to Vermont from every continent except Africa. FECC is Family Business Case Competition and it’s a big deal. Colleges spend thousands to participate with a three person team and at least one coach. UVM will have an undergrad and a grad team. Thomas Chittenden is one of two Co Chairs. The event shuttles between the School of Business, the Davis Center and the Hilton. The dates are January 7 to 10. |

The Boys & Girls Club of Burlington is a safe and essential place for youth in Burlington, where they can develop skills, make lasting connections with mentors, and achieve GREAT FUTURES. The Club serves youth from the Old North End of Burlington during after school hours and over the summer by offering them a safe place, caring mentors, and opportunities for dreams to come true. They host programs in three locations in Burlington: Clubhouse at 62 Oak Street, a satellite site at the Integrated Arts Academy (formerly H.O. Wheeler), and an Academic Tutoring Center in Roosevelt Park. |

Hands - Helping And Nuturing Diverse Seniors

HANDS is a small non-profit whose mission is to provide food for older adults (50 years+) in Vermont….with the generous help of hundreds of organizations, businesses, and volunteers. Specifically, we offer a meal and giftbags for about 700 folks on Christmas Day throughout Chittenden County with the help of Age Well, Burlington School Food Project, Michelle Charron and the Elks Club, Penny Cluse Café, Temple Sinai, and hundreds of volunteers and businesses; develop “HANDS in the Dirt” gardening programs in partnership with Red Wagon Plants, Vermont Community Garden Network, and gardening expert Charlie Nardozzi at senior housing, long-term care nursing centers, and community garden sites; provide “HANDS in the Kitchen” workshops with Chef Robin that cover such topics as cooking for one, shopping on a budget, eating healthy foods, & so much more; and offer weekly hot meal delivery to low-income seniors in Winooski, a town with few fresh food options, through a partnership with Feeding Chittenden’s “Good Food Truck”. |
