Natallie Fleishman (Joined Mar 22)

Natalie joined the Fletcher Allen Health Care--In alliance with the University of Vermont, development team in January 2009 as a seasoned fundraising professional with more than 20 years of experience in the non-profit philanthropic sector. She brings to Fletcher Allen a strong track record of building successful philanthropy programs and securing major and principal gifts. In addition, with experience working in fundraising at the University of Vermont and having lived in South Burlington the last eight years, and three years during the late 1980's during UVM's first ever $100 million capital campaign effort, she also brings with her a deep understanding of Vermont’s philanthropic community. Prior to FAHC Natalie served as Vice President for Development at World Learning in Brattleboro (2007-2009), an organization dedicated to international studies with a long history of providing students unique study abroad experiences, most often in developing countries. In her role at World Learning, she successfully secured more than $9 million dollars in support of World Learning's mission. Her fundraising experience includes positions at UVM, University of Pennsylvania, New York University and in a student relations role at Boston University during the early part of her career. At UVM, she served as Campaign Manager for the University’s most recent capital campaign, which surpassed its goal of $250 million in addition to managing the fundraising efforts for the College of Arts & Sciences--UVM's largest academic area. She also worked at the University of Vermont earlier in her career in alumni relations and development directing the successful $1,000,000 UVM Parents Fund. While fundraising for the University of Pennsylvania she managed both the New York regional office as well as served as Director of Major Gifts at Penn's central development office in Philadelphia responsible for a minimum yearly gift goal of $15 million and a staff of twelve. Natalie resides in South Burlington with her husband Mitch, a computer software specialist, and their two sons, Adam and Elias.

William Harwood (Joined Mar 15)

Bill was born in Burlington, attended Adams School thorough second grade, then Dad moved the family to North Dakota. Finished college in Grand Forks, spent three years in the Army and six in Illinois in Grad school. Currently: Retired from Foreign Service, as a Press and Culture Officer for 22 years, served in Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Somalia, Russia, and Poland. Worked on International education and cultural exchanges, Fulbright programs, libraries, radio and tv, press relations. Now active at College Street Church with Walt Bruska, and with several music performing organizations. Bill is married, with one daughter working at NIH in Washington DC. Many cousins, like Brian Harwood in Waterbury, Alden in Middlebury, and Barbara Sargent at St. Mike's. My sister was a Rotarian down in Manchester, as was my late father, also in Manchester and North Dakota. I joined Rotary in Bangladesh, then for a year in Kathmandu.

Joseph McGowan (Joined Nov 27)

Joe was born and raised in the south end of Burlington. He moved to TX in 2001 in pursuit of a career in the financial services industry. After 8 years working with industry leaders, he decided to relocate back to his home state, with wife, Betsy, a Houston native, and two daughters, Caitlyn 2 1/2 yrs and Haylee 1 year. Joe brings the Club valuable insight and knowledge regarding leadership, management, and customer service challenges faced by leading financial service providers. Beginning his career in the sales industry, Joe developed an interest in financial services and parlayed this interest into a financial sales position with Washington Mutual Finance in Houston,Texas. Joe pioneered sales, account management, and customer relationship management techniques that more than doubled daily sales results. This success led to his being recruited by AIG and fast-tracked into their branch management training program at American General. An expanding portfolio and additional service operations accomplishments led to recruitment to yet another leader in the Banking industry, HSBC. Wearing many hats in the industry and providing leadership to new colleagues, he was soon recognized, after just five short months, with a promotion to Senior Account Executive. Over the next six years Joe held the title of Asst Branch Manager, Branch Manager, and Assistant Vice President. Joe was a recipient of the 2008 Retail Branch Operations Leadership award for going above and beyond in focusing on the development and succession of his employees. Upon returning to Burlington, he was presented with an opportunity to join Citizens Bank as the Assistant Vice President and Bank Manager of their Burlington branch as of June 2009.

Ted DiGrande (Joined Nov 16)

Ted is an Area General Manager for Sodexo overseeing food operations on the Champlain College campus, Vermont Student Assistance, Shelburne Museum, and GE Healthcare (beginning in mid- December). Ted graduated with a BS in Hotel Administration from the University of New Hampshire. He spent 8 years in lodging, working at over 20 hotels as a GM. He joined Marriott Management Services Healthcare division as a multi-service GM managing food, housekeeping, and linen distribution for the Corpus Christi Medical Center in South Texas. He relocated with Marriott to Vermont in 1999 joining a prospering Champlain College. He was a trustee for four years for Grace United Methodist Church and is active coaching three youth sports with his two boys, Eli and Ben. His wife Suki is an elementary teacher at Mallets Bay School in Colchester. Ted is excited to begin his affiliation with Rotary.

Joseph Fischer (Joined Nov 16)

Joe grew up in Westminster, VT and graduated from Bellows Falls High School in 1968.Graduated from Springfield College in 1972 as a Physical Education Major. After college served 6 years in the U.S. Marine Corps, and attained the rank of Captain.Head Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Coach at UVM for 19 years. Physical Education Instructor at UVM for 24 years. In 1992, received a Doctor of Physical Education at Springfield College. Received a Doctor of Physical Education from Springfield College in 1992. Studied Teacher Enthusiasm in Secondary Physical Education Teachers as a dissertation topic. Is in his 10th year as an Assistant Athletic Director at UVM. His administrative duties at UVM include: •Administrative Supervisor of Facilities Operations and Maintenance •Coordinator of all Athletic Scheduling and game officials •Chair of the Event Management Team which oversees all home athletic events •Administrative Supervisor for: Men’s and Women’s Skiing, Women’s Swimming and Diving,Field Hockey;Head Strength and Conditioning Coach;Director of Athletic Maintenance •Liaison to the Vermont Lake Monsters and Liaison to Athletic Medicine Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association; President of the First Congregational Church in Burlington, VT, 1997-98; Inducted into the Vermont Principal’s Association Hall of Fame in May 2009. Hobbies include: Country & Western Music, playing the steel guitar, fitness, fly fishing

Ute Regan (Joined Nov 2)

Ute Regan is German, was educated in Europe and is a business person by education. She takes pleasure in meeting new people and new places and loves using her persuasiveness to raise funds for organizations that make a positive difference in the lives of individuals and their communities. She is passionate about education, adores little people(kids) and animals (not always in that order) and WILL interfere when she is witness to mistreatment to either. Ute is a sailor, gets up early, reads, writes and loves to go to the movies.She traveled to Central and South America as a volunteer with Partners of the Americas providing help and information to women to become financially independent. Inspired by the dedication to Rotary and generosity of Jesse Devlin,Rotary Club of Mexico City, Ute became a Rotarian. During the 10 years as a member of the Rotary Club of Honolulu, she participated in three international conventions, Barcelona, Brisbane and Chicago, five regional conventions and was part of many committees. Ute spend 10 days in Kyoto as the guest of the Kyoto Rotary Club, sister club to Rotary Club of Honolulu and is the first, and she believes the only female speaker at this point, at the Kyoto Rotary Club. Rotary has opened doors all over the world for Ute and yet her favorite place in the world is Burlington VT ………. after New Zealand, Australia, Gallipoli Italy, Dusseldorf, Kyoto, Mexico City, Honolulu,Maui, Palm Beach, Bangkok and Madrid.

Michele Ann Boomhower (Joined Jul 13)

Michele Boomhower was appointed to serve as the Executive Director of the Chittenden County Metropolitan Planning Organization (with a federal mandate to perform regional transportation planning activities) in the fall of 2008 following 15 years of service with the Lamoille County Planning Commission where she had worked since 1993. From 1999 to June 2008, she served as their Executive Director, spearheading the Commission’s programs in economic development, housing, telecommunications, fluvial geomorphology and emergency management. Michele played an active on a statewide basis during her tenure in Lamoille County. During 2006-2008 she served as a Governor’s appointee to the four-state Northern Forest Strategic Economic Development Initiative and the State Emergency Response Commission. She has chaired the State Hazard Mitigation Committee, served as a Governor’s appointee to the Board of Directors of the Vermont Center for Geographic Information, and participated as a guest speaker for numerous conferences at the local, state, regional and federal level. Prior to her position in Lamoille, she worked as an Assistant Coordinator for the State of Vermont Natural Resources Board District Environmental Commission #7 Act 250 office in St. Johnsbury and the State of Vermont Divisions of Water Quality and Forestry as a lab assistant in entomology. Michele grew up in Jericho and Underhill, she graduated summa cum laude from Johnson State College in 1993 and is a 2004 graduate of the Snelling Center for Government, Vermont Leadership Institute. Among her favorite hobbies she counts downhill skiing (Jay Peak is her favorite destination), camping, gardening, knitting, reading, and blue grass festivals. She serves as the Vice Chair of the Johnson State College Alumni Association. Michele is not new to Rotary, having been a member of the Morrisville Rotary Club. She and her family live on the shores of Lake Champlain in Georgia.

Stuart Kimball Wichert (Joined Jan 26)

Educated at Vermont Academy, Saxton’s River, Vermont and The George Washington University, Washington, D.C. Stuart Wichert (Kim) brings the personal knowledge and acumen gained in his nearly four decades of experience with leading corporations including sales and management positions with Xerox Corp. and as the President of a subsidiary of International Data Corp., a multinational publishing company devoted to the information technology industry. As an entrepreneur Kim has bought, developed and sold two successful small businesses. Kim’s success in business is due in large part to his ability to forge lasting relationships with his clients and his dedication to client service and satisfaction. Having been on both sides of buying and selling businesses, he is keenly aware of the emotional and the pragmatic issues involved. Active in community affairs, Kim serves on the board of Burr & Burton Academy, an independent school located in Manchester Vermont, and The Green Mountain Academy for Life Long Learning, a nonprofit educational organization that offers courses and programs to learners of all ages, also located in Manchester. He formally was Chair of the Board of Greater Boston Rehabilitation Service, a sheltered workshop organization that creates employment opportunities for adults with special needs.

Welcome Edie Brodsky! Helping others fulfill their dreams is Edie’s first priority. Her skills are many from creative and organizational skills, to attention to detail and negotiation. With a Masters Degree in Art & Education, she has spent years making a difference in the lives of many children. Now through her career in real estate, Edie turns her attention to making a difference in the lives of the families she works with. As a top monthly performer in her first year in real estate, Edie’s enthusiasm and dedication are obvious to all whom she comes in contact with. She knows how to listen and meet the needs of both customers and clients. Her professionalism, confidence and friendly manner are infectious.
