Dr. Marc van der Heyden, President, St. Michael's College

As president of Saint Michael’s College, Dr. van der Heyden has continued to demonstrate his ability to move academic programs forward as well as his extraordinary interest in building a collegial community of students, faculty and staff working together to advance student learning.

Since his inauguration on October 19, 1996, he has involved all of the College’s constituencies in developing a shared vision of Saint Michael’s—to be a superior Catholic liberal arts undergraduate residential college, excelling in the preparation of students for life-long learning in a global society. He is also committed to making the College part of the surrounding community’s arts and cultural environment as well as the many volunteer services in the region.

The Rotary Club of Burlington thanks Dr. van der Heyden for sharing his views on the issues and challenges surrounding today's university enviornment, and his goals for the future of St. Michael's College.
