April 11 Program
Linda Johnson, Executive Director, Prevent Child Abuse Vermont
For the past 30 years, Linda Johnson has focused on the safety and well-being of vulnerable children and their families. Particularly those who are affected by child abuse, domestic violence, substance abuse, mental illness, teen pregnancy and poverty.
Linda has designed, developed and supervised a number of programs that have received both statewide and national recognition. These include the Sexual Abuse Free Environment for Teen - the SAFE T program - aimed at the 7th and 8th grades, their parents and teachers; a parent education and support program for incarcerated and furloughed parents, their partners and children; and Nurturing Parent and Children programs being carried out throughout the State.
She created and managed publication and distribution of the Vermont Parents Home Companion and Resource Directory for 14 years. This is earmarked toward parents of newborn nd newly-adopted children.
Linda has received both State and National recognition for her outstanding work and leadership in this field.
A number of Rotary members have served or are serving on the Board of Directors, and they all agree that a more knowledgable, competent and dedicated leader for Prevent Child Abuse Vermont could not be found.
April is Prevent Child Abuse Month. Please visit the website at www.pcab.vt.org. for more information about how you can help to prevent child abuse.
